On the basis of the Environmental Impact Assessment, an Environmental Statement has been produced and forwarded to DECC and DEFRA together with an application on consents and licenses needed to construct the project. The application was forwarded to the authorities in November 2009.

Normally, the authorities will need at least 12 month to evaluate the Environmental Statement and to go through all details on the project application before consents can be issued.

Dependent on a successful planning application, grid connection and other detailed planning issues, the Westermost Offshore Wind Farm could be up and running by 2014.
