The EIA Process.
An Environmental Impact Assessment for the project has been undertaken. The Environmental Statement together with an application concerning the development of the plant was forwarded to the authorities 17th November 2009.
The assessment is addressing all relevant issues with regard to:
• Geology, geomorphology and sedimentary processes
• Wave and tidal conditions
• Designated areas and protected species
• Benthic ecology
• Natural fish resources
• Ornithology
• Mammals
• Landscape, seascape and visual character
• Commercial fisheries
• Shipping and navigation
• Radar and airspace
• Other human activities and socio-economy
During the work, the project team has had contact to a high number of statutory consultees and stakeholders with interests in the area concerned.
The working process also included public exhibitions to be set up in the local area. These exhibitions were held in June 2008.
