Once operational it is estimated that the Westermost Offshore Wind Farm will be able to provide 240-245MW of electricity, which is enough to fulfil the requirements of approximately 150,000 British households. The Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm makes a significant contribution to the UK government goal of installing 33GW of wind production by 2020. Without the Westermost Rough Offshore Wind farm project a serious shortfall in the UK Renewable Energy Strategy would result.

The Westermost Rough Offshore Wind farm will result in an annual reduction of approximately 264,429 tonnes of CO2, which would otherwise be produced by a power station using fossil fuels. This reduction significantly helps to fulfil the UK's commitment to reducing CO2 emissions.
