The 17 turbines at Lake Ostrowo wind farm are the type Vestas V90 1.8MW.

The wind turbines are automatically connected to the grid and start production at a wind speed of approximately 4m/s, and the power production increases with the wind speed up to approximately 13-14m/s (nominal wind speed) where the wind turbines reach their maximum output of 1.8MW.

At higher wind speeds, the output is automatically kept constant at 1.8MW in order to minimise the mechanical loads on the wind turbines. This is done by pitching the angle of the blades.

At wind speeds above 25m/s, corresponding to strong gale, the wind turbines are stopped in order to avoid overload. The power generation of the wind turbines depends on the wind.
