About the project
By summer 2007 the Lake Ostrowo wind farm at Wolin in Zachodniopomorskie Province in northern Poland went into commercial operation.

The wind farm comprises 17, 1.8 MW Vestas V90 wind turbines, yielding a total, nominal generating capacity of 30.6 MW and an annual output of approx. 90 million kWh corresponding to the consumption by around 45,000 Polish households.
Besides the wind turbines and the foundations, the realization of the project included the construction of access roads in the wind farm area, underground power and communication cables and a new transformer station.
The construction of the wind farm represents a major investment both in the Wolin Commune and the Kamien Pomorski District as well.
Different Polish companies were employed as suppliers of major parts of the wind farm and for the purpose of engineering and construction works. These included specialized companies from the region. In total, some 150 people were employed during the construction phase.
