Horns Rev 2 sends submarine cable towards the cost
On 12 October 2008, cable vessel Team Owen headed for Houstrup Beach with a speed of 1 kilometre per hour pulling a submarine cable of a diameter of approximately 30cm. Approximately 2 kilometres from shore, the ship turned around and laid the last couple of kilometres of cable towards the sea again. In February, the last cables will be laid down by the flat-bottomed cable vessel H.P Lading.
Nexan’s cable vessel heading towards the coast with the subsea cable. Before the cable laying began, the entire subsea cable was pulled up on the transformer platform. The wave and wind conditions were favourable and the entire process went well.
The cable is extended down to the seabed with great attention.
As the cable had been laid, cable vessel Cable One hosed down the cable into the seabed to protect it from anchors, fishing implements, etc.
