DONG Energy is one of Northern Europe's leading energy groups and the biggest supplier of electricity to Danish households. We hold a leading global position in the establishment and operation of offshore wind farms and we produce one third of the district heating in Denmark.

In September 2015, a majority in the Danish parliament decided to list DONG Energy on the stock exchange within the coming 18 months. The actual listing took place on 9 June 2016.

Today, the Danish state remains the majority shareholder in DONG Energy with 50.1%.

Other shareholders holding more than 5% of the shares or voting rights attached to the shares in DONG Energy A/S are:

  • New Energy Investment S.á.r.l. (New Energy Investment S.á.r.l is indirectly owned by entities under the control of the Merchant Banking Division of The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc)

  • The Capital Group Companies, Inc.

  • EuroPacific Growth Fund's

  • SEAS-NVE Holding A/S.

Shareholders holding less than 5% remain anonymous according to Danish law.
