DTU CHP plant
The CHP plant at the Technical University of Denmark was commissioned in 1998 and produces heat and electricity.
The plant consists of a natural-gas-fired combined cycle plant with both a gas and a steam turbine. Both the gas turbine and the steam turbine generate electricity, while the residual heat in the steam/water is used for district heating.
The plant’s capacity is 32 MJ/s of heat and 38 MW of electricity. This means that the CHP plant can supply heat to around 9,000 households in the area and electricity to approximately 40,000 households.
