Construction of the wind farm
First, thefoundation is installed: the foundation consists of a round steel pile with a diameter of approx 5 metres. A pile driver mounted on the installation vessel ‘Svanen’ drives the foundation pile approx 20-30 metres into the seabed, and a so-called transition piece is then cast onto the foundation pile.
The turbine positions will then be connected to the offshore substation via cables laid by specially constructed cable laying vessels. The cables are subsequently flushed down into the seabed by means of advanced remote-controlled robots.
Finally, the wind turbines are erected by means of large special-purpose vessels with extendable legs or by means of jack-up vessels. A crane mounted on the vessels will then lift the wind turbine components into place in six lifting operations.
Moreover, a number of transport vessels, barges, service vessels and accompanying vessels will assist in the construction of the wind farm.
Energinet.dk is responsible for constructing the offshore substation and laying of the submarine cable, which is to transport the generated power to the general power grid at Trige.
