Environmental Statement submission
Westermost Rough Ltd submitted 17th November 2009 applications for:
- Consent from the Secretary of State for Energy and Climate Change under Section 36 of the Electricity Act 1989, together with a declaration as to rights of navigation under Section 36A of the Electricity Act 1989, (as inserted by Section 99 Energy Act 2004) and planning permission for the onshore elements will be sought under Section 90 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 (“deemed planning permission”)
- Consent from the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs under Section 34 of the Coast Protection Act 1949, as amended by Section 36 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1988
- A licence from the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs under Section 5 of the Food and Environment Protection Act 1985
to construct and operate an offshore wind farm approximately 8km off the coast of East Yorkshire, connecting to an onshore connection to the electricity transmission system at Staithes road substation in Salt End.
The wind farm would have a total electrical capacity of up to 245 Megawatts and its location is approximately 8 km off the coast east of Tunstall.
