History
Site utilisation in the construction and operation phases is determined by Resolution No. XIX/127/2004 of the Council of the Karnice Commune dated 28 August 2004 on local zoning plan for the location of wind farm near Lędzin, Gocławice, Kusin, Drozdowo, Karnice Commune.
The first environmental report was made in 2007, and the building permit was granted in 2008. Construction of Karnice Wind Farm began in 2008 in terms of infrastructure works, and turbine installation and commissioning were carried out in 2009.
The wind farm went into commercial operation in late 2009/early 2010.
Poland is currently 95% powered by coal-fired power stations, which produce carbon dioxide, and therefore Poland is looking for sustainable eco-friendly alternatives.
