Intelligent meter reading

Smart Read is an intelligent meter that automatically meters customers’ electricity consumption every 24 hours and transmits the figures via the mobile telephone network to DONG Energy. This enables customers to monitor their daily consumption at dongenergy.dk, and in the long term will allow us to bill them solely on the basis of actual consumption and thus to avoid sending on-account bills based on estimates.

Burglar alarms
Smart Read makes it possible to connect a wireless burglar alarm and time switch plugs. The customer can activate the alarm and plugs via his mobile telephone, which will be equipped with a simple menu for this purpose. Moreover, customers will be able to read their electricity meters over their mobile phones. The next generation of Smart Read will be able to communicate data to DONG Energy via the optical fiber network as an alternative to the mobile telephone net-work.
