Sales

We currently have 1,100,000 wholesale and retail customers primarily in Denmark. While 80% of DONG Energy customers are retail, by volume they account for only around 30%.

2007 sales:

• 9.9 TWh in Denmark
• 1.0 TWh outside Denmark

Sourcing
We source power for Danish customers from Nord Pool and for customers in Germany and the Netherlands from both Nord Pool and EEX (European Energy Exchange).

Fibre communications network
We are developing a network to provide end-customers in Copenhagen and Northern Zealand with high-speed fibre optic connections. 

This network will be operator-neutral. We will ensure quality of service, but independent providers will lease bandwidth and supply it to their own customers.

Outdoor lighting
We own approximately 244,000 street lights, in addition to approximately 15,000 others that we operate and maintain on behalf of others. We sell our outdoor lighting services primarily to our long-time power customers around Northern Zealand and the western suburban areas of Copenhagen. These include:

• Municipalities
• Cooperative housing societies
• Homeowners’ associations
