Geothermal Energy

DONG Energy owns a geothermal plant in Thisted and 46% interest in a second one in Copenhagen. We operate both jointly with local district heating companies and receive payment in the form of a fixed-interest index annuities. Together, they generate approximately 150 TJ of heat annually.

We are currently seeking to develop additional geothermal plants, including one in Sønderborg.
