DONG Energy has an expanding portfolio of 68 natural gas and oil exploration and production licences strategically located in the following regions: 

  • Denmark - central North Sea area 
  • Norway – mid North Sea  
  • UK – West of Shetlands 
  • The Faroe Islands 
  • Greenland 

UK pipeline advantage
One of our major assets is the giant Ormen Lange natural gas field in the Norwegian sector. It is connected to the UK via the 1,200 km subsea pipeline, Langeled, which is part of the Gassled system. We expect this  field to play a major role in maintaining the majority of our natural gas reserves.  Additionally, the field helps us meet our goal of achieving 30% of our natural gas supply to our downstream markets from equity gas.

Extensive expertise
Since 2004, we have focused on expanding our long-term natural gas portfolio and our investments reflect this goal.

As an operator of 20 licences – of which three are currently producing – we have significant in-house experience, skills and industry knowledge within the exploration and production of natural gas and oil. We will continue to strengthen position in the coming years through the recruitment of highly qualified professionals to meet the needs of our expanding business.
