Ormen Lange
The giant Ormen Lange gas field, located in the Norwegian North Sea, started production in 2007 and is our largest producing field. It was discovered in 1997 with development commencing in 2003. We acquired our 10.34% interest in February 2005 as part of our strategic goal to increase our holdings in natural gas supply. By 2010, we expect to reach full natural gas production of approximately 2 billion cubic metres per annum.

The field is approximately 100 km north-west of Kristiansund, where water depths vary between 800 metres and 1,100 metres. We produce gas utilising a subsea installation tied-back to an onshore processing plant at Nyhamna in Norway. After processing, the gas is transported to the natural gas markets in the United Kingdom and continental Europe via the northern leg of the 1,200 kilometre Langeled pipeline and its associated pipelines.
