Future coal-fired power stations
DONG Energy is spearheading an EU project to develop the coal-firing technology of the future. The project is called AD 700 and features advanced steam data (700° C). The AD 700 project aims to increase boiler temperatures to 700° C to optimize coal combustion and reduce CO2 emissions.
Using experience from the world’s most efficient coal-fired power stations
Coal is the most accessible fossil fuel, and supplies are abundant. Therefore, the goal is to take the lessons learned at the world’s most efficient coal-fired power stations in Denmark and use them to develop new highly efficient plants that are even more eco-friendly.
Most of Europe’s major power companies are participating in the project.
