DONG Energy is active on the energy markets in Denmark, Sweden and Holland. The sales of electricity to end consumers in Denmark in 2008 amounted to a total of 8.323 GWh. 52 % of this was sold to customers that not to buy electricity on the free markets, but from DONG Energy’s power companies. The remaining 48% of the sales took place on free market terms to trade and private customers. On the trade market we offer individual solutions integrating counselling, energy consumption, optimisation and servicing of energy plants and the purchase of electricity and natural gas.

Sourcing
All electricity and natural gas sales including all related products as for instance CO2 quotas and green certificates are sourced from Energy Markets.

Increasing interest in freezing the price of electricity
During 2009 there has been an increasing interest among our private customers in entering into fixed price agreements. After successful campaigns during the spring and fall around 19.000 customers have entered into a fixed price agreement. This is an increase of approximately 10,000 customers in one year.
