Energy for the future at Experimentarium
Experimentarium and DONG Energy have entered an agreement for a permanent exhibit about climate and energy. In future, visitors can see the consequences of their actions on the climate.
The interactive exhibit will challenge the visitor’s creativity and ability to solve climate problems. Through activities, the audience can witness the total interconnected energy system from production and distribution to consumption and the environmental impacts.
The working title of the exhibit is ”Energi til fremtiden” (Energy for the future) and will cover an area of 500m3. The exhibit is expected to be open for visitors in spring 2009, and educational material will be produced for use in the primary school in connection with the exhibit.
”I am very pleased with DONG Energy’s generous donation. It makes it possible for us to create an exciting and educational exhibit. Together with the many supplementary activities, the exhibit will be Experimentarium’s contribution to the important, public climate debate, which I hope will take place during 2009 up to the UN Climate Change Conference in December. A debate about the possibility we humans have ourselves for limiting the man-made climate changes,” says Asger Høeg, executive director of Experimentarium.
”We would like to add to making the connection between the many choices that we as energy consumers make every day and their consequences more visible. We would especially like to contribute to the younger generation’s understanding of how we can act responsibly as energy consumers,” says Anders Eldrup CEO of DONG Energy.
