Nina Dencker Nielsen, Market Manager
Why DONG Energy?
At DONG Energy, I have had the opportunity to help pioneer a brand new product.

I joined the company as a newly qualified MSc in business administration and law when the electricity marked had just been deregulated. This meant that the entire organisation was in the midst of a large-scale transformation, and since I was the only one with a master’s degree in law and business administration in the Purchasing and Logistics department, I was given responsibility straight away.
Managing a brand new business area
I was soon working on interdisciplinary projects, including developing the new domicile in Gentofte. I helped outsource canteen operations for instance, by drawing up the tender documents for an open procedure and I’ve also been in charge of purchasing furniture and IT systems. In 2002, I was allowed to participate in testing a brand new business concept. We were about to embark on laying more than 3,000 km of cable, which raised the question of whether it would be a good idea if we laid optical fibre cables at the same time.
Fibernet became a strategic business area in its own right in 2005, and I have been put in charge of everything to do with the market: sales, marketing and customer service .
