Women in management

Diversity among employees and managers matters to us. For this reason, we want to have more women on our management team.

 

We have surveyed our current female managers which revealed that 71 percent of our female middle managers believe they have a good or some possibility of being promoted at DONG Energy.

We have taken concrete initiatives across our organisation to ensure that it promotes more women who are already managers with DONG Energy and not least initiatives to spot more women offering management potential.

These initiatives include:

  1. The forming of network groups for our female managers to discuss concrete and practical measures. These networks are formed across business areas and an executive officer is designated to each network group
  2. The establishment of improved systems for talent spotting and career development
  3. Evaluation of our recruitment processes with a view to assessing whether they sufficiently support our wish to attract and retain female employees and managers.

Charter for more women in management

"We have many female managers today, but I don’t think we have enough. I believe it is healthy for a company’s working climate to have a good mix of the genders and DONG Energy would benefit tremendously from being impacted by various types of skills and different ways of seeing and tackling problems.

For this reason, I have signed a charter for more women in leadership – an initiative launched by the Danish Ministry of Gender Equality, because I believe that we as a company should be a frontrunner in this area.
